Technical rules
Stand construction guidelines
The key technical information and regulations for your stand at ILA Berlin 2026.
Permits & stand plans
Submit a stand plan to messetechnik@messe-berlin.de at least six weeks before construction begins. Special builds (multi-storey, mobile stands, grandstands, show trucks) require structural calculations.
Build heights
Minimum build height: 2.50 m. Maximum build height in the permanent halls A, B and C: 6.0 m.
Special conditions — Hall D
Hall D is a tent construction. The permitted build height varies by area and must be clarified in advance. Rigging is not possible. Maximum floor load: 500 kg/sqm. Heavy installations require prior approval from the technical department at messetechnik@messe-berlin.de.
Rear walls & neighbouring stands
Surfaces facing a neighbouring stand must be neutral (white), clean and free of cables, text or graphics from 2.5 m upwards. All walls must be clearly separated from those of adjacent exhibitors.
Company name & stand number
All stands must display the exhibitor's company name and the assigned stand number in a clearly visible way. This ensures easy orientation for visitors and compliance with the show layout.
Furniture, AV & electrics
Furniture, stand construction and power connections are not included in the rental fee. All services are available through the Webshop.
All utility connections (power, water, compressed air, internet, telecommunications) must be ordered exclusively via Messe Berlin. Private generators, gas cylinders or fuel-powered equipment are prohibited.
Liability & insurance
Exhibitors are liable for any damage to halls, outdoor areas or facilities during set-up, operation or dismantling. Adequate liability insurance is required for the duration of the event.
Cleaning, waste & damage prevention
Exhibitors must keep their stands clean. Daily cleaning can be booked via the Webshop. Protective floor coverings are mandatory during set-up and dismantling.
Security
All stands must be staffed and accessible during opening hours. The show ground is closed from 22:00 to 06:00; the organiser provides general security but accepts no liability for theft or damage. Emergency exits, hydrants and fire extinguishers must remain accessible at all times.
Wi-Fi
Free Wi-Fi is available across the entire ILA show ground (except the Static Display area). Shared Wi-Fi may be limited at peak times. For presentations, we recommend a dedicated connection via the Webshop.
